AIHA present their annual commemoration of the escape of six Fenian convicts on 17/18 April, 1876.
The Catalpa Memorial depicts 6 wild geese in flight commissioned by Rockingham Council and was created by Irish born sculptors Charles and Joan Walsh-Smith. It was unveiled in September 2005.

This is a free event presented by AIHA with a program of music, song, poetry, historic and reflective presentations.
Special guests will include Rockingham councillors and local historians presented by Australian Irish Heritage Association.
Venue: Catalpa Memorial, Rockingham beach just south of township
Note: Some seating, water and shade are provided.
Afterwards, they will adjourn to Latitude 32 Restaurant, Railway Terrace, Palm Beach Boardwalk which is within walking distance.
